Contact via “Contact Leader” on the News & Links page For many years, AAUW has been concerned with the education of girls and young women. Association reports have shown that relative to males fewer females are in the “pipeline” studying science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM). A current focus of the AAUW is to encourage girls and young women to learn more about STEM fields, and to help encourage greater female participation in these important fields of study. The STEM special committee is compiling a list of Oregon STEM enrichment programs for girls and young women. Some of these programs are conducted by AAUW branches, denoted with (*), while others are independent. The following is a preliminary list of programs including website links, locations, and program type. If you know of a STEM related program that should be listed here, please send a message to: dellostm@wou.edu For further information about regional STEM Programs visit the Northwest Girls Collaborative Project website: http://www.ngcproject.org/northwest/index.html |
