Frequently Asked Questions

  1. How do I access the Member Center area of the state website?

For that information, look in the Oregon News. The  Password is listed somewhere in the newsletter. Click on Members Login at the right and type the password into the box on the login page. (All members use the same simple code.)

  2. What is in the Member Center area of the website?

That area contains the directory, forms, documents, links–things that would interest members, but not necessarily be available to the general public.

  3. Who is eligible for membership?

Since we are an organization begun by and for and university/college graduates, there is a membership eligibility requirement of an associate degree (or higher) from an accredited college or university. Alternately, a student affiliate membership is available for those who are enrolled in an accredited college or university. We value and seek a diverse membership. There are no barriers to full participation in this organization on the basis of gender, race, creed, age, sexual orientation, national origin, disability, or class.

  4. What are your goals and missions?

AAUW of Oregon promotes advocacy, takes action to empower women and girls, and connects the National AAUW with branch members. AAUW promotes equity for women and girls through research, education, and advocacy.

  5. Where do you meet?

All over Oregon. Our most frequent meetings are held at the branches. Most branches generally meet monthly. Please use our Branch Locator tab to find the branch website link for the branch nearest you.  There, you can learn more about the branch activities.

  6. Are my donations tax deductible?

When you donate to AAUW Funds, donations are tax deductible. AAUW is a top-rated 501(c)(3) charity, Tax ID: 52-6037388. Your national dues are tax deductible except for $3, which goes to legislative activities.
